Terms and Conditions

Please read the following carefully. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS: Please read these Terms of Service carefully to be sure that you understand them. By using the Service, you are agreeing to these Terms of Service. We strongly advise you to print a copy of these terms for future reference. This website is operated by Green Boxes Ltd. As user of this website you acknowledge that any use of this website including any transactions you make are subject to our terms and conditions below: You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using our Service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older.

‘The Company’ means Green Boxes trading as STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS.

‘The Customer’ means person individual or company including buyer / booking our service

“Agreement” means the agreement entered into by you and STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS.

“Goods” means the items which you pack into Storage Containers for storage by STUDENTS STORAGE EXPERTS.

“Storage Contents” means the contents of any box and or other item collected and stored by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS.

“Other Item” means an item provided by you for packing, transporting and storage which has not been packed into a Storage Container.

“Packaging and Packaging Requirements” means STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS packaging requirements from time to time, as set out here.

“Service” means the delivery, collection storage and return or boxes. Other items and storage contents.

“Site” means STUDENTS STORAGE EXPERTS’s website at studentstorageexperts.co.uk

“Storage Box” “Boxes “or “Cardboard Box” means a storage box which STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS supplied to you, or a box, suitcase case, holdall or any other container which you provide and store with us.

In order to use the Service, you must agree to these Terms of Service. You may not use the Service if you do not accept these Terms of Service. Your use of the Service will be taken as acceptance of these Terms of Service.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may refuse or cease to provide the service where it is considered that it may be used in breach of these Terms of Service or for any unlawful or improper purpose or for any other reason.

STUDENTS STORAGE EXPERTS may change these Terms of Service at any point if required and the customer will be notified. Any changes to the Terms of Service will come into force on the date stated in the notice which shall not be less than 7 days from when notice is given. If you use the Service after changes to the Terms of Service have come into force, you will be taken to have agreed to the changes. If you do not agree to the changes, then you may terminate this Agreement.

In order to use the Service, you will be required to provide information about yourself (name, address, contact details etc) as part of the registration process and continued use of the Service. You agree that this information will be accurate, correct and up to date.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS processes information about you in accordance with its Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to this processing.

THE SERVICE

1. You pack and we store service

In return for the customers purchase under this Agreement, STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS shall:

Where requested, deliver empty “Boxes” and other packing materials to the ground floor of your specified delivery address;

Collect the “Boxes” and “Other Item”, in each case suitably prepared for transport, from the ground floor of your specified collection address on the collection date chosen by you on the Site;

Transport the “Boxes“ and or “Other items” packed with your Goods to STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS storage facility.

Return each “Box” and or “Other items” packed with your Goods to the ground floor of your specified return address on the date chosen by you on the Site;

You agree that the number of “Boxes” and or “other items” that you requested to be collected shall be the actual and accurate number of “Boxes” and or “other items” to be collected subject to any change to the number that may be made at the time of collection.

You agree that if you arrange for a delivery, collection or return on a Saturday or Sunday or in a specific time slot on any day, additional fees as set out on the Site and shall be payable.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may refuse to return items to addresses that are not in the same postal area as from where they were collected.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will not deliver, collect or return Storage Containers to an address outside of mainland UK, unless we agree to do so in writing.

Times given by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS on the Site or otherwise for delivery, collection or return are estimates only and STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS shall not be liable for any delay in delivery, collection or return.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may cancel or postpone any delivery, collection or return where it is considered that it may endanger any employee, agent or contractor or member of the general public due to (including but not limited to) severe weather conditions or by reason of STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS having limited access to your specified delivery, collection or return address or if the box and or other item is deemed to breach the maximum weight.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will not be responsible for:

Packing goods into storage boxes and or other items unless a packing service has been requested in advance.

Single items (such as floor length mirrors) need to be fully protected with bubblewrap
Oversized items which cannot be boxed the compensation cannot be paid for if the item is damaged if not packed in protective material

2. Packing Service

As and when packing service has been requested in advance, STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS shall: Pack your Goods or Other Items from your personal area;

For an additional £25 STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will pack your goods and/ or other items from your kitchen and/ or other communal areas;

Arrange a 10 minute video call during the packing process if requested in advance; and
Transport the Storage Containers packed with your Goods or your Other Items otherwise suitably prepared for transport to STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS storage facility prior to preparation of a quote for:

Storage of your Goods or Other Items at STORAGE EXPERTS storage facility; or
You shall pay the £200 packing fee in advance of the packing service to confirm your booking;

You will receive an invoice once your items have been transported into storage. Payment is required within 7 days of receiving the invoice.

You shall, prior to STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS packing your Goods or Other Items in Storage Containers, pay: fixed fees and the deposit as stated on the website.

The deposit shall be deducted from your fees for storage of your Goods or Other Items at STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS storage facility and/or onward delivery fees.

If you do not proceed with either option and collect your Goods or Other Items we will retain your deposit.

You agree that if you arrange for packing or return on a Saturday or Sunday or in a specific time slot on any day, additional fees as set out on the Site shall be payable.

Times given by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS for delivery, collection or return are estimates only and STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS shall not be liable for any delay in packing or delivery.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS shall contact you during the process if requested and notify you as soon as your Goods and/or Other Items have been packed and collected.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may cancel or postpone any packing or delivery where STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS considers that it may endanger any employee, agent or contractor or member of the general public due to (including but not limited to) severe weather conditions or by reason of STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS having limited access to your specified packing or return address.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will not be responsible for:

Dismantling or assembling any unit, system or furniture (including flat pack);

Disconnecting, reconnecting, dismantling or reassembling appliances, fixtures, fittings or equipment;

Packing Goods into Donation Containers;

Packing any items which have not been identified in advance or during the video call;

Packing any items which are not cleaned to a satisfactory level and/ or have residue;

Any video calls that have been missed by the customer at the arranged time and packing will commence;

Any failed video calls due to lack of internet and packing will commence;

Any excluded items, which can be found in ‘Restricted and Prohibited Items’ and
obtaining written consent from the landlord, accommodation provider or other relevant third party regarding STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS accessing your accommodation to pack and collect your Goods and Other Items.

3. Shipping Service

Shipping Services shall include the collection, transportation and delivery of the Customer’s possessions.

The Customer or a authorised person needs to be during the collection day to hand over the pre-packed personal goods to STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS shall transport and deliver these goods to a shipping address agreed by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS and the Customer.

UK SHIPPING DELIVERIES.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will arrange for delivery of the Customer’s possessions at the delivery address agreed upon by the Customer and STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS during booking.

The customer will select a date and STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will agree.

If the distance is over 25 miles from the collection address STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may contact, you with an alternative date for you to agree (this can be up to 7 days from the requested date).

The Customer must ensure that either the Customer or somebody trusted by the Customer is available at the address to receive the items from our courier during the hours stated.

Failed deliveries due to the Customer or the Customer’s representative not being present to receive the Customer’s possessions at the delivery address will result in additional charge of £25 Ex VAT.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may cancel or postpone any delivery where STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS considers that it may endanger any employee, agent or contractor or member of the general public due to (including but not limited to) severe weather conditions or by reason of STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS having limited access to your specified packing or return address or due to unforeseen circumstances.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING DELIVERIES.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will arrange for delivery of the Customer’s possessions at the delivery address agreed upon by the Customer and STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS during booking.

We require payment for the admin fee and if arranged in advance, the packing fee, to proceed with your booking.

The invoice requires payment within 7 days, failure to do so will result in your belongings being returned to your accommodation if access is agreed or recycled.

Address changes made after the invoice has been paid may result in further charges
STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will then send through a quote from a third party overseas freighting company.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS require a response within 7 days of the quote to avoid any additional storage fees.

Furthermore, STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will have the right to return/ recycle your Goods and/ or Other Items if the customer does not respond to the quote within these 7 days.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will forward over an invoice for the final overseas freighting charges.

Payment is required within 7 days of the date the invoice was sent. Failure to do so STUDENT

STORAGE EXPERTS will have the right to return/ recycle your Goods and/ or Other Items if the customer does not respond to the quote within these 7 days.

All international freight invoices may be subject to surcharges or increase in local taxations;

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS reserve the right to amend the invoice at any point for this reason.

Once the customers Goods and/ or Oher Items have been collected by the third party damage/ loss of these goods are subject to the third party terms and conditions.

If the customers pre-packed goods and/ or Other Items are returned due to prohibited Goods/ Other items – listed in Restricted Items,

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may charge an administration fee in conjunction with additional freighting costs to rebook a collection and remove the item.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for:

ensuring that STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS or its carrier have such access and parking facilities as may be reasonably required to carry out the Services;

Being present, or ensuring that someone authorised by you is present, during the delivery, collection and return of the “Boxes” and or “other items”

Providing STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS with your contact details and ensuring that these are accurate and up-to-date;

Providing STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS with all the information requested about your Other Items when prompted;

Notifying STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS of any changes regarding your orders prior to the day of the service (delivery collection and return):

Delivery of your materials;

Collection of your Storage “Boxes” and or “other items” or
Return of your Storage “Boxes” and or “other items”

All changes must be provided 2 working days in advance.

It is your responsibility to ensure that:

The Goods have been securely packed into “Boxes” as per the instruction provided with your order “Other items” have been wrapped, both in accordance with our Packaging instructions suitably prepared for transport and storage so as not to cause damage or injury or the risk of damage or injury to STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS property, employees, agents, contractors or other goods, whether by spreading of damp, infestation, leakage or the escape of fumes or substances or otherwise.

If the Goods are fragile you must ensure they are thoroughly bubble wrapped in multiple layers and carefully packed; any comments must be inputted into your inventory on your account prior to collection.

Each Storage “Box” and or “Other Items” is labelled with the specific labels provided by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS which is then fixed securely with tape as per packing instructions;

Informing STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS within 48 hours of delivery, of any loss or damage to the “Goods” or “Other Items” or your property that occurred during a delivery, collection or return service.

 You acknowledge that STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will not be responsible for any loss or damage if you fail to inform STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS within such time period.

STORAGE CONTAINERS

Storage “Boxes” will be supplied by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS or may be provided by yourself.

Storage “Boxes” supplied by you must be in accordance with STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS Packaging Requirements.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS reserve the right to reject any Storage Box and or other item which is not in accordance with the Packaging Requirements.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to Goods which are not packed in accordance with the Packaging Requirements.

If you provide your own Storage “Boxes” they must be:

Double Walled cardboard boxes;

In good condition, sturdy and suitable for transport and storage of the Goods; In respect of dimensions of the boxes provided by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS;

Storage Containers provided by the customer (small and large) must be with a combined width, height and length less than or equal to the size of the boxes supplied by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS.

If you wish to store any item that is not explicitly listed as available for storage on the Site then you must contact STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS for confirmation that your items can be stored and to receive a quote.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS reserve the right to charge these items at a higher level than stated on the Site.

No Storage “Box” and or “other item” supplied by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS or by you, should exceed the maximum weight limit of 25kg.

Any containers exceeding the maximum weight limit will be subject to the following :

A penalty for the item being overweight, whereby any container exceeding the maximum weight limit of 25kg will incur a penalty fee of £20 plus £1 per kilo per box in excess of 25kg, applicable per order containing one (or more) item(s) that are overweight;

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS reserve the right to repack the overweight storage containers into one (or more) Storage Containers that each weigh no more than 25kg.
A charge for any packing or repacking T&M (Time and Materials) required to repack the overweight containers into one (or more) Storage Containers, weighing no more than 25kg each, will apply. The customer will always be informed prior to the re packing taking place.

A change to the pricing plan contract may apply if the total number of boxes in an order is changed. Where the total number of boxes is reduced a credit may be applicable if the total monthly storage price is lower than the monthly storage price originally paid for.

In the event of an increase in the total number of boxes in the order then charges may be applicable if the total monthly storage price is higher than the monthly storage price originally paid for.

If STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS, or any delivery partner:

Collects any Storage Box and or other Item supplied by you; or
Redelivers any Storage Box and or other Item supplied by you, despite the fact that such Storage Container or Other Item does not comply with the Packaging Requirements or has not been securely packed in accordance, you will be liable for any damage or injury to any property, the property of third parties, employees, agents, or contractors as a result of your failure to comply with these requirements.

THE STORAGE CONTENTS AND OTHER ITEMS

You warrant that other Items and storage contents are your own property or that you have the right and authority to store the Goods or Other Items in accordance with this Agreement.
Other Items and storage items must not include, and you must not store any of the following in the Storage Containers or Other Items:

•   Liquids and semi-liquid foods in glass containers.
  Opened Cleaning Products / Cosmetics in which are not securely sealed.

•   All perishable goods.

•   Non-perishable food unless packed so that they are protected from and do not attract

  vermin.

•   Antiques (breakable and fragile).

•   Birds, fish, animals or any other living creature.

•   Explosive weapons or ammunition.

•   Sharp knives or other kitchen implements unless blade is fully protected with a suitable

  material.

•   Combustible or flammable materials including but not limited to, diesel, petrol, oil, gas,

  artificial fertilizer or cleaning solvents.

  Compressed gas such as aerosols.

•   Chemicals, radioactive materials, biological agents, including household cleaners.

•   Toxic waste, asbestos or other materials of a dangerous nature.

•   Any other toxic, flammable or hazardous substance or preparations, classified as such under

  applicable law.

•   Specialized equipment with electronic and/or fragile components.

 Stolen or any other item considered to illegal to possess without the appropriate authority to do so.

Should it become apparent that any of the prohibited items listed are contained within one of your Storage boxes and or other item will be removed and disposed, and the rest of the Goods within that Storage Box and or Other Item will be searched for further prohibited items, which if found, will also be removed and disposed.

An administration fee of £50 will be charged for each Storage Container or Other Items that is found to contain or is in itself a prohibited item. Further disposal fees may also be applied depending on the nature of the prohibited item(s) and the appropriate authority will be informed.

You agree that STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may at any time without notifying you open any Storage Box and or other item to inspect the Goods:

If STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS reasonably believes that it may contain any items described above

If STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS is required to do so by the police, fire services, local authority or by court order;

In order for STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS to investigate title to the Goods in the event of any dispute;

Where STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS considers it necessary in an emergency (including but not limited to suspicion of hazardous substances, or unidentified items) or to prevent injury or damage to persons or property;

Where STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS considers it necessary if there is excess weight or inappropriate packing materials used by you; and
If STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS reasonably believes that the Goods have become unsecure in the Storage Container and, in such circumstances, STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may repack the Storage Container.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may:
Refuse to store any Goods or Other Items; or
Return to you any Goods or Other Items, at your cost, at any time,

You agree that if title to the Goods or Other Items is subject to any third party claim:

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS has the right to investigate the title and be satisfied as to such title before returning the Goods or Other Items; and
STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may keep possession of the Goods or Other Items until it has completed any investigation.

RESTRICTIONS

You must not:
Use the Service in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect.

CHARGES AND PAYMENT

Payment is required on booking your storage service in full up to and including the date of the return of your boxes and or other items. Costs include delivery of our boxes and packing materials (bubble wrap), collection, storage and return or your storage “boxes” and or “other items”.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS minimum storage period is 4 weeks.

Charges for the Service are as follows:

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS reserves the right to increase the charges payable by you in accordance with the charges listed on the Site from time to time upon notification to you in the event that any Storage Box and or other item collected;

Has a combined width, height and length greater than highlighted under the box description provided or exceeds the maximum weight limit of 25kg;

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS reserves the right to increase the charges payable by you in accordance with the charges listed on the Site from time to time upon notification to you in the event that any Other Item collected;
Has dimensions or weight different to that communicated by you before the collection takes place; or
Is not a specified item in the “Other Items” listed on the Site, and where a quote has not been agreed.

Delivery of Other Items to a postal area that is different to which it was collected from;

Collection or deliveries which require more than one person or more than one van to complete. STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS reserves the right to apply a £25 handling fee for any Storage Container collected that is a suitcase, holdall, rucksack and sports bag where STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS wasn’t previously notified and the customer account amended to reflect this fact and payment made.
In the event that a driver is left waiting, and STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS incurs a cost for the waiting time, we reserve the right to charge you for the full cost of the waiting time.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS can, upon request, check items in the warehouse and provide a description of a customer’s items by label number. Each check, as understood by each journey required by a STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS agent to verify a piece of information requested by the customer that involves entering the warehouse to do so, will be charged at £5 per box or item.

All charges on the final invoice are inclusive of VAT (20%).

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS charges are payable by credit card or debit card in advance or if agreed via a BACS transfer.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may charge £10 administration fee to cover costs if the issuer of your payment card refuses to or does not, for any reason.

If payment of the charges and any other amounts payable are not received by the due date, STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may (without prejudice to any other right or remedy, including the right to withhold or dispose of the Goods), charge interest on the outstanding amount at the rate of 5% per annum above the base lending rate of Barclays Bank plc from time to time, charge £5 per email sent, £2 per phone call, £10 per letter sent in the process of collecting the outstanding debt, and collect any charges from the debtor for auction or sales fees, and any transaction fees required.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may review the monthly charges from time to time for all new orders, the new standard rates will take immediate effect;

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may review the charges for empty Storage boxes and packing materials from time to time.

Additional charges as set out on the Site from time to time may be applied if:

You provide insufficient or inaccurate address information;

You are, or someone authorised by you is not, available at the premises during the specified Delivery, collection or return period that you booked when requesting such delivery, Collection or return and after reasonable efforts to contact you to rearrange;

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS carrier is unable to access your premises to deliver or collect Storage Containers or Other Items and the delay lasts longer than twenty minutes;

Delivery, collection or return of the Storage boxes and or other items takes over one hour to complete from arrival at your address through no fault of STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS carrier;

You request that delivery, collection or return of the Storage Containers or Other Items be carried out outside of normal working hours (7.00am — 18.00pm Monday — Friday);

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS has to deliver or collect Storage Containers or Other Items from above the ground floor without being able to use a lift.

Extended periods of storage can be ordered and paid for online as per the customers initial order and or if agreed via a BACS transfer. All extended payments need to be made prior to the extended period. STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may apply a 5% daily charge to any extended period and applied immediately after the completion of the initial paid service.

RIGHT TO WITHHOLD OR DISPOSE OF GOODS AND OTHER ITEMS

If you do not pay the charges or any other payments due under this Agreement, STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS shall have the right to withhold and ultimately dispose of some or all of the Goods, storage contents or Other Items.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will provide you with 28 days written notice requiring you to pay all amounts due and to contact STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS to arrange for re-delivery of the Storage Boxes and or Other Items.

If, upon the expiration of the 28-day notice period you have failed to pay all of the amounts due, STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may dispose of some or all of the Goods, storage contents or Other Items

You shall be responsible for all costs reasonably incurred by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS in relation to the disposal of the Goods or Other Items.

If STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS receives money on disposal of the Goods and Other Items the net proceeds of sale will be credited to your account and STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will pay any excess to you without interest, less administrative charge of £50.

RETURN OF PACKING MATERIALS

You are able to return unused packing materials that are in a re-saleable condition to STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS for a refund of up to £1.50 Ex VAT per item, provided that you notify STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS of your intention to return the packing materials within 7 days of the date on which the packing materials are delivered to your specified delivery address.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will not refund the delivery charge for you to return the packing materials.

Please notify STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS of your intention to return the packing materials by email.

Your notification is effective from the date that the email is received by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS Once the packing materials have been received by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will in its discretion:

Refund you on the payment method used by you to pay for the packing materials; or
Credit your account for the correct amount.

DISCLAIMER

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS provides the Site “as available” basis with all faults.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS does not warrant that use of the Site will be error-free or uninterrupted or that any defects will be corrected.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will provide the Service with reasonable care and skill and substantially as described in this Agreement.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS does not make any other promises or warranties about the Service.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS LIABILITY TO YOU

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS limits its liability to you in contract, tort (including negligence), bailment, or otherwise for the Goods or Other Items.

You acknowledge that STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS is unaware of the value of the Goods or Other Items (that have been packed by the customer and) be stored and does not insure Goods or Other Items to the value in excess of £100 unless arranged in advance.

Enhanced compensation of up to £500 can be arranged in advance of collection with STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS and will be subject to a further charge.

This is per item or box including their contents. STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS recommends that if further insurance is required for items over £500 you should arrange your own insurance to cover the value of the Goods or Other Items, through your house insurance or other insurance offered through the University.

With a packing service, all customers are asked to disclose and detail any items that are worth more than £100.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS has Public Liability Insurance and Goods in Transit Insurance.

When STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS returns the Storage Containers packed with your Goods, storage contents or Other Items to you, you must promptly examine the Goods or Other Items and notify STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS of any loss of or damage to the Goods or Other Items within 2 working days of redelivery of the Goods or Other Items to you.

If you fail to inform STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS within such time period, STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will not be liable to you for any loss or damage.

In the event of a claim, STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS shall be entitled to require proof of the cost price and the current replacement cost of the Goods or Other Items.

You must respond promptly to STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS enquiries and requests for information in respect of the Goods or Other Items.

If you do not provide STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS with any information or documents requested by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS within 28 days of STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS request STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will not be liable to you for the loss of or damage to the Goods or Other Items.

In respect of each Storage Box, storage contents and or Other Item, STUDENT STORAGE
EXPERTS total liability in contract, tort (including negligence), bailment, or otherwise for the Service or any breach of this Agreement by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS or for any loss of or damage to the Goods or Other Items (including loss or damage during collection, redelivery or storage) shall not in any event exceed the lower of:

The cost price of the Goods in the Storage Container or Other Item up to a value of £100 as per the insurance provided per item by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS or £500 if enhanced insurance has been requested and paid for.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS shall not in any event be responsible in contract, tort (including negligence), bailment, or otherwise for loss or damage that falls into the following categories:

Loss of or damage to the Goods or Other Items which does not arise as a direct consequence of any breach of this Agreement by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS or any deliberate or negligent act or omission on the part of STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS or its contractors;

Any indirect or consequential loss that arises from special circumstances, such as loss arising as a result of you being delayed for or missing an appointment or flight, even if STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS was aware of the possibility of such a loss;

Loss of or damage to the Goods or Other Items which is caused by your failure to comply with this Agreement;

Loss of or damage to any Goods or Other Items of a type listed in ‘Restricted/ Prohibited Items’ or those set out in the Packaging Requirements under the heading “What we will not be liable for”; Loss of business, sales, revenue, profits, anticipated savings or goodwill, damage to reputation or wasted time; or

Loss or damage which was not reasonably foreseeable at the date of entering into this Agreement, regardless as to how such loss or damage was caused.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS shall have no liability to you:

For damage to the Other Items if not wrapped to protect against handling and transport as set out in the Packaging Requirements;

For damage to the Other Items if proof of condition photos are not provided when requested by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS prior to the collection;

For damage to the Storage boxes and or other items (as opposed to the contents inside the Storage boxes);

For damage to the property when transporting Storage contents boxes and or other items out of and into the property; or
If the Goods are seized under any law or court order.

Nothing in these Terms of Service excludes or limits STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS liability for:

Death or personal injury caused by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS negligence; or
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS will not be liable or responsible for any damage to or loss of the Goods or Other Items, or failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of its obligations under this Agreement that is caused by events outside its reasonable control (including but not limited to) Act of God, flood, earthquake, windstorm or other natural disaster; war, armed conflict, terrorist attack, civil war, civil commotion or riots; nuclear, chemical or biological contamination or sonic boom; any law or government order, rule, regulation or direction, or any action taken by a government or public authority; fire, explosion or accidental damage; extreme adverse weather conditions; interruption or failure of utility service, including but not limited to electric power, gas or water; any labour dispute, including but not limited to strikes, industrial action or lockouts; non-performance or delay by suppliers or subcontractors; and failure of plant machinery, machinery, vehicles, computers, the Internet or telecommunications.

YOUR LIABILITY TO STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS

You shall reimburse STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS in full an amount equal to all damages, liabilities, costs, claims and expenses that STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may incur as a result of your use of the Service or any breach by you of this Agreement.

OWNERSHIP OF RIGHTS

All rights, including copyright, in the Site and the Service are owned by or licensed to STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS
“STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS” is a registered trade mark of Green Boxes Limited.

RIGHT TO CANCEL – “COOLING OFF PERIOD”

Each request for the Service by you shall constitute a separate contract between you and STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS on these Terms of Service.

You have the right to change your mind and cancel each contract within 14 calendar days after the day on which you entered into the contract with STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS.

If you wish to cancel within the 14 calendar days you must notify STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS.

You acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel if you request STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS to collect the Goods before the period of 14 calendar days elapses.

TERMINATION

You may terminate this Agreement at any time by requesting the return of your Storage boxes packed with storage items and or other items and paying any outstanding charges due to STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS. A £25 admin fee will be applied to any terminated orders.

STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may terminate this Agreement with immediate effect by notice in writing to you, if:

You fail to pay any amount due, including any interest accrued, by the date due; or
you are in breach of any term of this Agreement.
STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may terminate this Agreement for any reason by giving you not less than 30 days written notice.

Upon termination of this Agreement for any reason you must contact STUDENT STORAGE
EXPERTS promptly to arrange for re-delivery of the Storage boxes and or other items.

If within 30 days following termination of this Agreement for any reason you fail to arrange for re- delivery of the Storage Containers, then STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS may dispose of the Goods in accordance with the provisions of ‘Right to withhold or dispose of goods & other items’.

WHAT WE WILL ACCEPT

Double-walled cardboard boxes (either our STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS boxes or any double-walled cardboard box with a combined width, height and length less than or equal to those described and supplied by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS and not exceeding a combined weight of 25kg).

Suitcase, holdalls, sport bags and bikes (Not exceeding 25kg per item) in boxes provided and musical instruments in hard cases.

Other oversized items such as skis, snowboards which have been agreed and quoted for (Not exceeding 25kg per item and packed within a case, purpose-built bag or sufficient packing material to afford reasonable protection).

Printers, TVs and other electrical equipment within original packaging including polystyrene interior or sufficient packing material to afford reasonable protection (Not exceeding 25kg per item).

Goods wrapped in protective layers of bubble wrap and packed carefully into a Storage Container. This includes but not limited to: Box, bag or case which is sealed closed with tape.

WHAT WE WILL NOT ACCEPT

Single-walled cardboard boxes, including crisp boxes.

Musical instruments in soft cases.

Any Storage Container over 25kg.

Any goods containing liquids, chemicals or food.

WHAT WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR

In terms of outer packing, anything that is considered as packing materials for the Goods or Other Items as per the “What we will accept list” above.

In terms of Goods:

Glass, crockery and other fragile items unless packed sufficiently with packing materials;

Goods with any glass element, and other fragile items;

Electronics;

Jewellery, bullion;

Antiques;

The outside of suitcases, bags, sports bags, plastic containers and hard cases for instruments.

In terms of Other Items:

Anything that is not considered as wrapped to be protected against handling and transport as set out in the Packaging Requirements;

Where proof of condition photos are not provided when requested by STUDENT STORAGE EXPERTS prior to collection.

General wear and tear of floors and walls whilst transporting the Goods from and to the property.
